I worked closely with Taylor Gahm (PCMG) to help renew JDR's branding and online presence. During those three months, we created a fully customizable website built on the client's preferred Windows .NET CMS. The client wanted to be able to build any page with any layout they wanted with the ease of Microsoft Outlook which many at JDR were used to using.“Zach is a great guy. In the last year alone, she has done a number of amazing things in the Amarillo, TX and Nashville, TN scenes, and it's going to be crazy awesome to see where she goes next. Last year she started writing for her upcoming EP, "'Til I'm With You". Shortly thereafter, I got an email from her asking if I'd do her artwork. Then she sent me the photographs from her recent shoot with Joseph Elliott Schlabs... I was floored. Typically, I push my own custom art and photography, but I just simply couldn't let these photographs be hidden. They fit perfectly with the voice of the EP. I recently worked with Joe DeAngelo from Brooklyn, NY and delivered a custom website that allowed him to do pretty everything he dreamed. This site features a custom music player that can be used throughout the website as well a dedicated music page for people who want to play his albums at full length.This site also features a custom lyrics, media (photo & video), and dates page. Joe needed an edge in the music and online communities, and my goal was to help make him look larger than life while giving him the functionality he needed from day to day basis. In 2010, I designed a cover for his "The Artist As The New Pastor". In May 2011, he reached out to me again to create something custom for his book, "UNTITLED: Thoughts on The Creative Process". With UNTITLED, Blaine had a vision of ideas waiting to be captured. The areas I am most creative are at home, in transit, and when I just sit down with pen and paper. In my first attempts at the cover, I decided to work with a couple of images I had shot previously that were really inspiring to me. Blaine weighed in and said that though they were awesome images, they weren't tangible enough for "the creative process".This got me thinking... For me, the way ideas start to form is often in the form of a journal. Naturally, I decided to bring in my own creative process to the mix. I shot the cover of my journal at 2am when I was in the middle of my own creative process. After a few visual edits of the journal and feeling like we were close but not quite there, I began feeling like I should rethink the edits. Thankfully, Photoshop did too and proceeded to crash on me. While I didn't lose what I was working on, I used it as an opportunity to take on a new edit altogether. After a few minutes, I knew I had something special, sent it to Blaine, and he concurred. The majority of the work was going to be there. Every page has a custom header, and there are a number of pages with custom layouts. After playing outside a while acoustically, I asked if I could snap some portraits and if they were doing any official shows nearby. They nodded and said that they were playing the next day nearby and to check them out.That night, after checking out their work online, I noticed they lacked recent press photos. This was the first muliti-medium branding project I had directed. It was also the first official photoshoot I had done. There was much learned throughout the process of the project, but I am super proud of how everything came together.Initially, Worsham just needed photos, but soon we discovered there was a great need for music packaging, a splash page / online store, and a Myspace design (I know...). In only a couple of weeks, from start to finish, we had Worsham fully branded.
